Another commitment on the way for Clemson?
Clemson has already landed nine commitments for the class of 2023 in June. Another could be on the way soon.
Four-star edge AJ Hoffler announced on Monday that he will be committing Tuesday night. Hoffler’s announcement is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Hoffler is rated as a four-star recruit, the No. 273 overall player in the country and the No. 33 edge in the class of 2023, according to the On3 Consensus rankings.
Clemson has a 92.5 percent chance of landing Hoffler, according to the Recruiting Prediction Machine.
Hoffler visited Clemson earlier this month and told On3’s Jeremy Johnson that Clemson was No. 1 on his list of schools following the trip.

“This was my third time there so I didn’t really need to look at everything for the third time,” Hoffler told Johnson. “I was just hanging out with all of the defensive ends and the defensive tackles the whole time. I’m friends with half of them just off this weekend. Myles Murphy, K.J. Henry and Tre Williams, I’m cool with all of them. It was really good hanging out with them this weekend. That was my favorite part.”
Hoffler has a good relationship with Dabo Swinney and the rest of Clemson’s coaching staff.
The Atlanta native also holds offers from Ohio State, Michigan, Auburn and others, but Clemson is in a good spot.
“It’s all family-oriented and making sure that you’re good as a man first,” Hoffler said. “They’re all about if you’re good as a man, football will take care of itself. You’re at Clemson for a reason. You’re a good enough football player to be here, so they’re about making sure you’re good mentally.”
If Hoffler chooses the Tigers, he would be the third defensive lineman in the class of 2023 to do so, joining Vic Burley and David Ojiegbe.
