The AP preseason top 25 poll is out and it’s no surprise that Clemson is ranked in the top 5.

The Tigers come in at No. 3 in the poll, behind Alabama and Oklahoma. Ohio State and Georgia area also in the top 5.

Last week, the coaches poll was released and Clemson checked in at No. 2 overall, trailing Alabama. Rounding out the coaches top five was Oklahoma, Ohio State, and Georgia.

Clemson will face just one team in the preseason top 25, and that matchup occurs in the first game of the season. In the neutral-site contest, Clemson and Georgia will give us the first top-five contest of the season. The Tigers are currently a 3-point favorite at Caesars Sportsbook. College GameDay will be on location at Bank of America Stadium, and the much-anticipated game gets the prime-time kickoff slot on ABC.

Last season, Clemson opened the season as the preseason No. 1 team. Once again, Dabo Swinney has the Tigers in a position to compete for the College Football Playoff.
