Syracuse is likely to be without one of its top defenders Saturday afternoon against Clemson.

Cornerback Garrett Williams is “unlikely to play” according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

Williams was injured last week against NC State. He did travel to Clemson, but is not expected to be in the game.

The redshirt sophomore started 10 games at cornerback last season, leading the ACC in pass break ups for the second consecutive year.

Williams is third on the Syracuse team in tackles this season with 32. He has a team-high two interceptions and three pass breakups.
