D.J. Uiagalelei said at the ACC Kickoff event last week that Clemson coach Dabo Swinney refers to the ACC title game as Another Clemson Championship.

Winning another ACC title is exactly what the media expects Clemson to do this year.

The Tigers have won six consecutive ACC Championships and are officially expected to win a seventh straight.

The ACC released the results of its preseason poll from 147 media members on Monday and Clemson is the overwhelming favorite to win the ACC Atlantic and ACC.

Of the 147 media members polled, 146 picked Clemson to win the ACC Atlantic, with N.C. State receiving the only other vote.

Clemson was picked to win the ACC title on 125 of 147 ballots. North Carolina (16), Miami (3), Virginia (1), Georgia Tech (1) and N.C. State (1) also received votes.

UNC was picked to win the Coastal Division, receiving 109 of the 147 first-place votes.

The Tar Heels are expected to be a contender in the ACC with quarterback Sam Howell back under center.

If the preseason predictions hold true, North Carolina and Clemson will meet in the ACC title game in Charlotte later this season. The two teams are not scheduled to meet in the regular season.

They last played in 2019 at Chapel Hill, with the Tigers hanging on for a 21-20 victory.

Even with Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne gone, it’s no surprise Clemson is picked to win the ACC once again. Uiagalelei is one of the Heisman favorites, and Clemson should have one of the best defenses in football, led by super senior James Skalski and a strong defensive line.
