CLEMSON — Less than 24 hours after losing a commitment from transfer guard Jaelin Llewellyn, Clemson has landed a commitment from an elite guard in the class of 2022 in Dillon Hunter.

The Atlanta native committed to Clemson Wednesday morning, becoming the highest-ranked commit for Clemson in this year’s recruiting class. Hunter is ranked as a three-star recruit and the No. 127 overall player in the country, according to the On3 Consensus rankings.

The 6-foot-3 prospect originally signed with Baylor in November, before being granted his release from the Bears earlier this week.

Hunter spent this past season at Sunrise Christian Academy in Kansas but is originally from Atlanta. He is the brother of current Clemson guard Chase Hunter.

He joins Chauncey Wiggins, RJ Godfrey and Chauncey Gibson in Clemson’s 2022 recruiting class.

Hunter will have an opportunity for immediate playing time as Clemson lost two guards to the transfer portal this offseason in Al-Amir Dawes and Nick Honor.

Honor announced Tuesday night that he will play at Missouri next season.

This has been a busy couple of weeks for Clemson.

In the past eight days, Clemson has landed a commitment from Llewellyn, had Llewellyn decommit and lost two assistant coaches in Antonio Reynolds-Dean and Kareem Richardson.

Now, the Tigers can add getting a commitment from Dillon Hunter to their busy month of April.
