Clemson coach Brad Brownell provided an update on star forward PJ Hall during his press conference on Tuesday.
Brownell doesn’t have an exact day for when Hall will be back, but he didn’t rule out the opener against The Citadel on Monday, Nov. 7.
“That might be hard but I’m not going to say anything’s impossible,” Brownell said. “He really hasn’t done a lot with us yet. He’s just starting to get out on the court.”
Hall has mostly been running sprints, pushing sleds and taking shots. He has not participated in full practices yet but is set to do that this week.
“Just starting to get to that point. We have not yet. That’s why the next couple of weeks are so important,” Brownell said. “When he’s right he’s one of the 10 best players in the league. He’s a talent.”
The original goal was for Hall to be back in December, but he is now expected back at some point in November.

Clemson opens the season on Nov. 5 against The Citadel, before playing at South Carolina on Nov. 11.
One thing Brownell will not do is rush him back after he sustained a knee injury on his first day returning to practice after foot surgery.
“The biggest thing for me is to make sure we’re patient with him,” Brownell said. “The end of last season I thought he was playing great, and unfortunately he didn’t get to build on that.”
The junior averaged 15.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per game last season. He also led the Tigers in blocks with 38 — 30 more than anyone else on the team.
The former Dorman star was named preseason second-team All-ACC.
Hall went down with a knee injury this summer after playing through a hurt foot for much of last season.
