Expected Clemson, ACC testing requirements for season
CLEMSON — The ACC is finalizing its COVID-19 testing guidelines for the 2021 college football season and an announcement is expected in the next couple of days, if not today.
The conference is expected to require unvaccinated players to be tested three times per week and vaccinated players to be tested once per week.
Under South Carolina law, schools in the Palmetto State are not allowed to differentiate between vaccinated and unvaccinated players unless it is required by a third party. In this instance, the ACC is the third party, and so Clemson is allowed to follow ACC guidelines.

Under ACC policy, vaccinated and unvaccinated players will only be required to test once per week if a team is at least 85% vaccinated. Clemson is close to that mark but is not quite there yet.
Clemson University is requiring all students to be tested once per week, regardless of vaccination status. Staff members must be tested once every other week under University policy.
