Clemson TE Davis Allen entering NFL draft
Clemson tight end Davis Allen announced during Tuesday’s Orange Bowl media availability that he is entering the NFL draft, according to Gene Sapakoff of The Post and Courier.
Friday’s game against Tennessee will be Allen’s final game as a Clemson Tiger.
The 6-foot-6 tight end spent the past four seasons at Clemson.
Davis Allen saved his best year for his last as he is currently second on Clemson’s team in catches with 35 for 394 yards. He is tied for the team lead with five receiving touchdowns.
“This is it for me,” Allen told reporters in Miami. “I graduated on the 22nd and just recently got engaged, too. I’m going to give the NFL a shot. I’m going to train and do Pro Day and all that and see where that goes.”
Allen signed with Clemson as a three-star prospect in the class of 2019.
He was an immediate contributor for the Tigers, appearing in all 15 games, with one start as a freshman.
In 2020, Allen had 16 catches for 247 yards and four scores. Last season, Allen caught 28 passes for 208 yards.

The Georgia native added that he is unsure about his draft grade as he spent the entire season focusing on doing everything in his power to help Clemson earn as many wins as possible.
He is slated to play in the Senior Bowl next month.
“The only focus I had this year was this team. That other stuff will take care of itself,” Allen said. “I’ll start worrying about that next week after this game gets over with. But right now I’m just focused on winning this game and hanging with my teammates.”
In addition to Allen, offensive lineman Jordan McFadden also announced that he is entering the NFL draft on Tuesday.
Clemson and Tennessee will play at 8 p.m. Friday in Miami. The Tigers are currently favored by 5.5 points.
