Early betting line released for pair of Clemson ACC games
CLEMSON — The start of the college football season is still more than six months away, but early betting lines have already started coming out for games in the 2023 season.
FanDuel has released early lines for several games, including a pair involving Clemson.
The FanDuel sportsbook has Clemson as an 11-point favorite against Duke for its season opener on Sept. 4.
FanDuel also has the Tigers as a 3-point favorite for their matchup against Florida State on Sept. 23 for a game that is expected to feature the top two teams in the ACC.
More on Clemson-Duke
The Clemson-Duke game will be played on Labor Day and will mark the first meeting between the two teams since 2018 when the Tigers beat the Blue Devils 35-6 at Death Valley.
Duke is coming off of an impressive season under first-year head coach Mike Elko, who was previously the defensive coordinator at Texas A&M.
The Blue Devils finished 9-4 in 2022, finishing the year with a 30-13 win over UCF in the Military Bowl. Duke went 5-3 in the ACC last season, including earning wins over Miami and Wake Forest.
The 9-4 season marked a huge turnaround for a Duke team that finished 3-9 in 2021.
The Blue Devils hadn’t recorded a winning season since 2018 prior to last year and had not finished with at least nine wins since 2014.

The matchup between Clemson and Florida State in late September is one of the most anticipated games of the 2023 college football season.
Most preseason polls have FSU ranked higher than Clemson as the Seminoles return a ton of talent from last year’s 10-win season, including star quarterback Jordan Travis.
What could make the game even more difficult for Clemson is that Tigers starting quarterback Cade Klubnink will be making just his fifth career start and only his third start against a Power 5 opponent.
Still, Clemson is an early favorite for the matchup against the Seminoles. The Tigers have won seven consecutive games in the series, including a 34-28 win last year in Tallahassee.
