Clemson continued to stay hot on the recruiting trail as the Tigers landed a Thanksgiving Day commitment from four-star receiver Tyler Brown on Thursday.

Brown announced his commitment on Instagram live Thursday afternoon. He chose the Tigers over offers from Minnesota, Northwestern, Georgia Tech and others.

The Greenville High star spoke with On3 about why Clemson is the right place for him.

“Just genuine coaches. Dabo, who wouldn’t want to run through a wall for that guy?” Brown said. “Stability in the system, man. All I’ve known since I came out the womb was purple and orange. It’s just the right place for me, for sure.”

Brown was offered by Clemson on Nov. 12 and was ready to commit immediately.

He waited until the following day to commit to Clemson’s coaching staff and went public with his commitment on Thursday.

“When that offer came it took everything in me to not commit on the spot. I wanted to let the world know,” Brown said. “[Dabo] put no pressure on me. He just said ‘I hope I can coach you.’ He’s just a great guy.”

Brown also has a strong relationship with Clemson receivers coach Tyler Grisham. He becomes the 23rd commit for the Tigers in the class of 2023 and the third receiver, joining Ronan Hanafin and Noble Johnson.

“He’s a genuine guy, just like Dabo. He was honest with me 100 percent,” Brown said of Grisham. “Went to the camp this summer and he kept it real with me.”

Brown is ranked as a four-star prospect. He is the No. 5 player in the state of South Carolina, the No. 42 receiver in the nation and the No. 294 overall player in the country, according to On3.

The On3 consensus rankings have Brown as the No. 13 player in SC, the No. 135 receiver and the No. 937 player in the country.

Brown will play in the slot at Clemson and could also be used in the return game.

“Some people would kind of compare my game to Antonio Williams,” Brown said. “That’s my guy. That’s my guy, for sure. I definitely watch his film and try to model my game after his. I’m a speed guy, for sure.”
