CLEMSON — The 2022 football season is a big one for Clemson as Dabo Swinney’s program looks to return to elite status.

We already knew which teams were on Clemson’s 2022 schedule. We now know the dates and the order the games will be played.

Clemson’s season opener against Georgia Tech, which will be played at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, will be played on Monday, Sept. 5. This will be the second consecutive season the Tigers open the season in an NFL stadium as Clemson lost to Georgia at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte to open the 2021 season.

The Tigers will then have their home opener less than a week later, hosting Furman on Saturday, Sept. 10.

Clemson has another out-of-conference home game the following week as the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs come to town on Sept. 17.

Clemson’s ACC home opener will be played on Oct. 1 following a trip to Wake Forest the previous week. The Demon Deacons won the ACC Atlantic this past season.

Arguably the toughest game on Clemson’s schedule takes place Saturday, Nov. 5 at Notre Dame. The Tigers lost at Notre Dame in double overtime in 2020 as quarterback DJ Uiagalelei made his first career road start.

Clemson closes out the regular season when it hosts South Carolina on Nov. 26. The Tigers have not faced the Gamecocks at home since 2018. The two teams did not play in 2020, when Clemson would have hosted the game, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Tigers have a bye week on Oct. 29.
