Terrell is the No. 298 overall prospect in the 2023 On3 Consensus rankings. The four-star cornerback committed to the Tigers back on June 6.
Avieon Terrell wanted his own relationship with Clemson
Terrell was the first prospect with a scholarship offer in the class of 2023. He didn’t just jump at the opportunity to commit to Clemson because his brother played there.
Terrell did his due diligence.
“It was a family atmosphere,” Terrell told On3 after his commitment. “Everything up there just felt like home. I couldn’t build a relationship with anyone else, like the one I had with Clemson…It was just family. I couldn’t go anywhere else…I definitely built my own relationship with them. We talked about how they wanted to use me. They want to play me everywhere.”
Scouting summary: Technically sound, fluid cover corner who excels in camp settings. Has a smaller build at around 5-foot-10.5, 165 pounds heading into his senior season. Instinctive player on Friday nights. Makes anticipatory plays in coverage. Plays in a secondary that has been loaded with fellow Power 5 prospects at Atlanta Westlake. A standout in camp settings, where he shows the ability to quickly react and stay attached downfield. Rarely gives up receptions in 1-on-1 drills. As solid arm length despite his smaller frame. Has posted a 11.11 second mark in the 100 meters. Older brother, AJ Terrell was a first-round pick by the Atlanta Falcons out of Clemson and is one of the top current cornerbacks in the NFL.
