Clemson cornerback involved in car crash
CHARLOTTE — Clemson cornerback Fred Davis was involved in a car accident Wednesday afternoon, a Clemson official confirmed to ClemsonSports.com.
Davis, a sophomore from Jacksonville, was not injured in the incident, a Clemson official said Thursday morning.
“We are aware of a vehicle accident involving one of our student-athletes, Fred Davis,” a Clemson spokesperson said. “We are still gathering information, but he reported that he did not sustain any injuries. Additional questions can be directed to the City of Clemson Police Department.”

The Clemson police department did not immediately return a request for more information.
Dabo Swinney will speak at the ACC Kickoff Event later on Thursday and will be asked about the incident.
Davis appeared in 11 games last season, recording 13 tackles and two pass breakups in 183 snaps.
He is expected to provide depth at cornerback for the Tigers this season.
Davis signed with Clemson as a four-star recruit in the class of 2020. The 6-foot, 185 pound defensive back was rated as the No. 53 overall player and No. 7 cornerback in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
