One of Clemson’s starting guards has entered the transfer portal as a grad transfer.

Junior Nick Honor is transferring from the Tigers program, Clemson Sports confirmed on Tuesday.

Honor started 25 of Clemson’s 33 games last season. He averaged 7.7 points per game and led the Tigers with 79 assists on the season.

Honor, who originally transferred to Clemson from Fordham, is a good shooter but made only 32.5 percent of his 3-point attempts this past season.

He was a 39.5 percent shooter from the field and a 90.5 percent free throw shooter. He was fifth on the team in scoring last year.

Honor joins David Collins and Naz Bohannon as rotation players from this past season who won’t be back in 2022-23 as Collins and Bohannon graduated.

Despite the losses, Clemson should be better next season as the Tigers return several contributors — most notably leading scorer PJ Hall.

Honor started his career at Fordham, averaging 15.3 points per game as a freshman and 3 assists as a freshman.

He had to sit out a year after transferring to Clemson and averaged 8.1 points per game during his first season with the Tigers in 2020-21.

For his career, Honor averages 10.6 points per game and shoots 33.9 percent from 3-point range.
