Dabo Swinney provides update on Clemson DT Tyler Davis
Clemson defensive tackle Tyler Davis missed Saturday’s game against Georgia Tech.
Tigers coach Dabo Swinney provided an update on Davis following the game and said the injury is not serious.
“He’ll be fine. He’ll be fine. He just got a little banged up, but he’ll be alright,” Swinney said. “We just held him out to try to get him 100 percent — don’t want anything lingering.”
Davis was a first-team All-ACC selection for the Tigers last season, despite battling injuries.
He is disruptive up front when healthy, but Clemson didn’t want to chance him getting even further injured against an FCS opponent in Furman on Saturday.
The Tigers are heavy favorites again for this weekend’s game against Louisiana Tech, so it’s possible Davis is held again if he’s not 100 percent.
The priority is getting Davis healthy before the Tigers resume ACC play on Saturday, Sept. 24 at Wake Forest.

Swinney also provided an update on Clemson freshman receiver Adam Randall, who has yet to play this season but is getting close.
Randall dressed for Saturday’s game and went through warm ups but did not play.
“He’s been wide open. He’s done it all. It’s just a matter of them green lighting him,” Swinney said. “He’s running around and looks good out there.”
Update: Swinney said Sunday night that Clemson freshman Adam Randall will play this coming weekend against Louisiana Tech.
