Clemson star Tyler Davis officially out against Georgia
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — It’s official. Clemson will be down one of its top defenders Saturday night against Georgia as defensive tackle Tyler Davis will miss the game due to COVID-19 protocol.
The loss of Davis is a big one for Clemson as he started seven games last season, finishing with five tackles for loss and a pair of sacks.
There was internet speculation this week that Davis might be able to still play if it was determined he had a false positive test. However, as we told subscribers Friday morning, there was no false positive.

Davis and Bryan Bresee are expected to be one of the best defensive tackle tandems in the country this year.
With Davis out, Ruke Orhorhoro and Tre Williams will be counted on to step up.
Also out for Clemson are receivier Brannon Spector and offensive lineman Mason Trotter. Spector’s absence was expected, while Trotter’s is a surprise.
