The 2023 On3 150 player rankings were updated on Tuesday, and as expected, there were plenty of changes at the top and back end.

Small forward Cody Williams now being the No. 1 prospect overall and Bronny James earning five-star status highlight the national discussion, while plenty of schools saw changes within their class as well, with one being the University of Florida.

Just over a month ago, Australian big man Alex Condon announced his commitment to the Gators. He was unranked at the time and fairly unknown if we are being honest; however, On3 boosted him into the national spotlight this afternoon by attaching four stars to his profile.

Condon, 6-foot-11, 230 pounds, is also the 13th-ranked center and 117th-ranked player overall. It’s one thing to receive stars, but landing in the On3 150 should have Gators fans even more excited about the NBA Global Academy Australia standout.

Early in his career, Condon should be able to contribute in the open floor and on hustle plays due to his combination of size and athleticism. He boasts a significant amount of raw potential that Todd Golden and his staff will gladly work with in Gainesville.

All in all, you can never recruit enough 7-footers with open-court ability. The Gators lack depth in the frontcourt and are adding another promising recruit in Condon.

Both Gators commits are ranked inside the On3 150

Condon was not the only Gators commit on the receiving end of some pleasant news today.

Thomas Haugh, a 6-foot-9, 200-pound power forward who signed in November, is also ranked inside the On3 150 rankings. He does not boast a fourth star like Condon but checks in as the 31st-ranked power forward. He is also labeled the 117th-ranked prospect regardless of position.

Prior to committing to the Gators, Haugh, a native of Pennsylvania, considered offers from Illinois, Maryland, Georgia Tech, Northwestern and Virginia Tech among others. He was initially a member of the 2022 class before deciding to take a post-grad year.

Although he grew up outside of the Southeast, being able to attend UF is a dream come true for Haugh.

The 2023 prospect was presented with an offer in mid-June and then took his official visit roughly a week later. He then went public with a committment just shortly after wrapping up his weekend at the Swamp.

“I mean, honestly, growing up, Florida was one of my dream schools,” Haugh told Gators Online’s Pat O’Donnell after his official visit. “Growing up, I loved the university. And I come from Pennsylvania, so it was kind of unique. I was a big Tim Tebow fan, so I watched the football team a lot. And then I kind of fell in love with the basketball team, too, ‘cause they won that back-to-back national championships.

“So, growing up, I loved Florida, and then just being able to play this spring and gain a lot of high-major offers and looks, it was great to know that Florida had me on their radar. And then they came to watch me play. We got a visit set up, and I loved the visit. So then I just took it from there, and my family and I made the decision. So it was great. It was a great past couple of weeks.”

Todd Golden reacts to the addition of Haugh

Since the Gators have already signed Haugh, Todd Golden was able to comment on the addition shortly after pen was put to paper.

“We are very excited to add Thomas to our program here at the University of Florida,” Golden said. “Thomas embodies many of the qualities we look for when recruiting student-athletes. He’s selfless, has a great attitude, and values the tradition and history of our program.

“On the floor, he’s a 6-foot-9 hybrid skilled forward that can dribble, pass, and shoot.  He can defend multiple positions and has a great basketball IQ. He will be a great addition to our program!”
