The Miami Hurricanes men’s basketball rebuild is in full swing under new head coach Jai Lucas, and on Wednesday, the Canes added another piece to their growing roster as Slovakian forward Timotej Malovec announced his commitment to Miami.

Regarded as one of the top international prospects, the 6-foot-7 wing plays for KK Mega Bemax, a men’s professional basketball club based in Belgrade, Serbia. He averaged 5.5 points and three rebounds while shooting 40.1 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from beyond the arc.

Here’s a look at Malovec’s scouting summary, according to Alan Lu of NBA Scouting Live:

“Timotej Malovec is an athletic, energetic swingman that can make hustle plays on both ends of the floor. He will need to be a more consistent shooter and a more assertive player on offense, but his athleticism and motor could enable him to be a possible second-round pick in the 2026 draft.”

KK Mega Bemax has produced several NBA stars over the years—most notably Denver Nuggets center and three-time league MVP Nikola Jokić. Other notable NBA players who have come through KK Mega Bemax include Boban Marjanović (Houston Rockets), Nikola Jović (Miami Heat), and Ivica Zubac (Los Angeles Clippers).

Malovec now joins former New Mexico guard Tru Washington, Indiana forward Malik Reneau, TCU center Ernest Udeh Jr., Michigan guard Tre Donaldson, and four-star shooting guard Dante Allen on Miami’s growing roster.
