WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

With the midpoint of fall drills passing, we take a closer look at how this Miami Hurricanes season won’t just be defined by the opener at Florida … with some historical perspective. There’s an inside look at the Gators’ biggest strength … and weakness … as well with Miami looks to gain an edge heading into that game. CaneSport publisher Gary Ferman also answers all your questions in his Week 3 of fall drills Mailbag.

Plus we catch up with Mishael Powell for his thoughts on the key DB spot with the Florida opener inching ever closer.

Also don’t miss our new Inside The Line segments with Simeon Barrow and Markeith Williams. Barrow is looking to a big season at a key interior line spot that needs to come through for the Canes, and Williams will need to be ready with a thin depth chart at safety. Get all their thoughts.

In recruiting? We have tons of new updates for you, starting with the new commitments. The first came from Mykah Newton on Friday night, when he flipped from NC State. We had an interview with him as well as an analysis of what he brings to the table for the Canes. And then Saturday night Miami added local standout DB Bryce Fitzgerald, and we brought you that breaking news plus an analysis of his play as well.

We also had Stephen Wagner analyzing a handful of prospects whose stocks could skyrocket this fall, and he wrote two Live From The Crib columns with input from Ezekiel Marcelin, Amari Wallace and more after attending Miami Central’s win over Vanguard, and with several more prospects on Saturday at Traz Powell Stadium. Wagner also shared his take on the commits and prospects he saw play over the weekend.

Another update was with the No. 7 overall prospect and No. 1 ATH in the 2026 class, Brandon Arrington. Miami’s offered, so where do things stand there?

We also had an interesting update with Riverview (Fla.) Armwood four-star wide receiver Tyler Williams. He committed to the Georgia Bulldogs in June but has not yet closed the door on the Miami Hurricanes and plans to visit.

Then there’s Huntington Prep (W. Va.) 2026 wide receiver Tayveon Wilson, who has a Miami offer and breaks down where things stand there. Another 2026 target who has an offer that we catch up with is Fort Myers (Fla.) offensive tackle Joel Ervin. With more than 10 Power Four offers find out the situation with him and the Canes.

Meanwhile 2026 Miami Hurricanes linebacker target Karon Maycock opened up his junior season in a big way as his Miami Central Rockets squad downed Vanguard 32-0 this past Friday. Miami’s on him, so check out his thoughts.

There also are updates on Miami commits Gavin Nix and SJ Alofaituli that you don’t want to miss. Another commit we catch up with is injured Amari Wallace, who shares his status.

Plus check out a breakdown of the Miami pipeline schools with the most Cane targets in the next two classes.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Have to beat the Gators … Posted by Dalew2009

Expectations are sky high.

Josh Pate, Joel Klatt, JD Pickell all predicting 11 wins.

Paul Finebaum and Heather Dinich both said today Miami is the most underrated team in the AP poll at 19.

I know we can achieve all our goals with a loss at the Gators, but I just think that game means so much. It’s a must win.
