WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

Practice continued yesterday, of course, and we had full coverage of Day 2 on Greentree with news and notes from the day’s work plus post-practice updates from several players including Mishael Powell comparing last year’s title run at Washington to what could happen this season at Miami. There also was video of the work. So don’t miss all that coverage.

Also don’t miss our feature this morning with DL Tyler Baron, who is expected to be a huge impact up front for the Canes, and we also havean update with DT CJ Clark weighing in.

Plus Cam Ward is the ACC Preseason Player of the Year in media voting and one of five Hurricanes on the All-ACC preseason team. Check out that news.

In recruiting?

We catch up with Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage four-star receiver Malachi Toney, Miami’s longest-tenured member of the 2026 class. He was back in Coral Gables for the Hurricanes’ end-of-summer recruiting cookout last weekend and shares his thoughts.

Also don’t miss what St. Augustine (Fla.) four-star wide receiver Somourian Wingo is saying off his time at Miami as he has developed a strong relationship with Miami Hurricanes wide receivers coach Kevin Beard.

The Hurricanes also hosted four-star 2026 defensive lineman McHale Blade, a friend of 2024 five-star signee Marquise Lightfoot, at Miami’s end-of-summer recruiting cookout. Check out his take.

Plus we have an update with another visitor from last weekend, Miami (Fla.) Carol City three-star cornerback Rodarion Jones. He got his first look at the Canes and what they have to offer.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

“The thing that’s been really surprising is how well it’s meshed together (with so many new faces on the DL from last year). I think there’s not really a lot of egos in that room, I think everybody is just excited to play with one another and go from there.”
