COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Not long ago, when Michigan State made its most important football coaching hire of the past 50 years, a wise man in Columbus, Ohio said, “The neighborhood just got tougher.” Those were Jim Tressel’s words, when his former assistant coach, Mark Dantonio, took the job at Michigan State.
