The Big Ten Network football training camp tour continued Tuesday, with the crew heading to Ann Arbor to watch and report on Michigan’s preparations for the 2024 season. The Wolverines are the defending national champions and three-time defending Big Ten champs.

Analyst Yogi Roth gave some takeaways from his time at Michigan on Twitter. Quoting from his post:

  • QB competition continues & both of the QBs have elite traits, are highly competitive & have It Factor (when they walk into a room their teammates feel their presence AND they make them better.) + I’m a huge fan of
[offensive coordinator Kirk Campbell] & his path to Michigan.
  • May not have a ton of returning starters but backs ups played a ton last year. I dont think experience is as big of an issue as general numbers show.
  • Defense going to be real, again. Elite CB, scheme going to challenge everyone.
  • New B1G has upgraded at QB with 4 new teams & Michigan faces 3 of them, those QBs will test them. Will be fun to watch that element this fall across [the Big Ten].

Michigan Wolverines basketball will tip off the season and begin the head coach Dusty May era with a Nov. 4 opener against Cleveland State at Crisler Center. But prior to that, the Maize and Blue will take the Little Caesars Arena floor in Detroit, the home of the Pistons, for a charity exhibition game against Oakland Oct. 20.

The event will benefit Forgotten Harvest, a non-profit food insecurity organization whose vision is to work with communities to end hunger and create individual, neighborhood, economic and environmental health. Food insecurity is one’s inability to obtain sufficient food for their household’s needs.

The game will tip off at 5 p.m. ET and be streamed live on B1G+. Tickets go on sale Friday (Aug. 23) at 10 a.m. at 313Presents.com, Ticketmaster.com and the Xfinity Box Office at Little Caesars Arena.

Quote Of The Day

“Coach Moore was the best offensive line coach in college for two years in a row. I love his pedigree as an offensive line coach. What’s better for an offensive lineman than for the head coach to be an o-line guy? Coach Newsome is following in his footsteps. He was on me heavy when he got the job. They were really consistent.”
