The Michigan Wolverines continue their hot streak on the recruiting trail coming off of a busy Victors Weekend in Ann Arbor, adding a pair of commitments in four-star running back Donovan Johnson and three-star offensive lineman Kayden Strayhorn.

After the pledges, Michigan now ranks 12th in the country with 10 commits, which is good for fourth in the expanded Big Ten Conference behind Ohio State, Oregon and USC. They are only percentage points behind the Trojans, who have 11 commitments, so U-M could soon move up the Big Ten rankings, too.

There seems to be plenty of buzz that more commitments could be on the way coming off the visit weekend. Our EJ Holland has put in several more RPM picks that Michigan fans should familiarize themselves with as the process rolls along.

After months of stalled momentum and an overhaul under new head coach Sherrone Moore, Michigan appears to be back on track as a program on the recruiting trail. The 2025 class includes a pair of top-100 prospects in DL Nate Marshall and safety Kainoa Winston, along with quarterback Carter Smith, IOL Avery Gach, DL Jaylen Williams, DL Bobby Kanka, RB Jasper Parker and tight end Eli Owens, in addition to the commitments from this past weekend.

Michigan quote of the day

“So what’s next for the offensive line? We’re now in a bit of an interesting situation. Michigan has two commits upfront and is trending with On300 prospect Hardy Watts. U-M entered the cycle only wanting to take three at the position, but there are still some big targets out there. I do think Michigan would make room for five-star tackle Andrew Babalola, but I’m not sure about Douglas Utu or SJ Alofaituli. It should be noted that Alai Kalaniuvalu would be a take due to him technically being a 2027 recruit — he is going on a two-year mission upon graduation.”
