Height: 6-foot-5
Weight: 282
Senior Stats: Recorded 10 total tackles and four sacks in just four games
Industry Ranking: No. 85 defensive lineman, No. 854 overall
Interesting Facts: Originally from Germany. Only played two years of high school football. Works closely with European trainer Brandon Collier, who mentored former Michigan defensive lineman Julius Welschof and current EDGE Aymeric Koumba. From same school that produced Michigan offensive lineman Tristan Bounds. Grew up playing soccer.

Recruitment

Michigan offered Beigel at one of its on-campus camps last year and notched his commitment soon after. Beigel picked U-M over Central Michigan and later notched offers from Georgia, Penn State and Texas A&M. Michigan defensive line coach Mike Elston served as his primary recruiter.

He Said It

“It’s a great school. There is no better place than Michigan. The people are really nice. The coaching staff really impressed me. They wanted me. I think it’s a great fit academically and athletically. I think I can learn so much from Coach Elston at Michigan. I’m excited to work with him.”

They Said It

“The size and athletic ability popped out right away. When I met him, he was 265 pounds and really athletic. Just looking at his size and his footwork, I knew he was going to be special. He was really good at soccer, but he outgrew the sport. He’s currently 6-foot-5, 295 pounds. He’s in the high 4.8 or low 4.9 range at his size. He’s broad jumping over 9’5. His explosion and athleticism is rare. The sky is the limit for that kid.” — Brandon Collier, CEO of PPI Recruits

Scouting Report

“Beigel is an older prospect. He came over from Europe. He has two way versatility. He’s be viewed at different positions at least from a rankings perspective. He can play on both sides of the line. He’s very strong. The biggest thing is going to be continuing to develop from a technical standpoint. But he is extremely physically developed. The physical development is ahead of the technical ability. He has a lot of brute strength. He’s an athlete. I believe Michigan is taking him as a defensive lineman. He’s a guy that just provides a physical presence on the interior.” — On3 Rankings Director Charles Power
