Much like he did last fall, 2025 Mississippi State commitment and On3 four-star quarterback Kamario Taylor has delivered dominating performances this offseason. Whether it be at national combines or Elite 11 regional events, Taylor has rated among the best in the country.

But looking towards his senior season at Noxubee County High School, Taylor is looking to elevate his teammates and their game, as well. Taylor has led Noxubee County to back-to-back Class 3A state championship games but this season the Tigers will feature a lot of youth on the roster.

“It’s been a good summer so far,” Taylor explained. “I’ve been working hard, staying consistent in the weight room and all of that. My biggest thing is to get our younger guys ready for the season. We don’t return a lot of guys this year so we have to get a lot out of our younger guys.”

Taylor has steadily risen up the On3 recruiting rankings this offseason and is currently listed as the nation’s No. 94 overall prospect regardless of position. He is also listed as the nation’s No. 10 quarterback and the state’s No. 5 prospect by On3 rankings.

As a junior, Taylor threw for 3,594 yards with 43 touchdowns and just five interceptions. He also added 794 yards and 15 more scores on the ground.

“With my game, I am trying to be a better leader,” added the 6-foot-3.5 and 210-pound Taylor. “I have to be more vocal and keep leading by example. That at quarterback, I want to be more consistent throwing the ball and be more consistent with my accuracy.”

Also this offseason, Taylor has been a regular visitor to his future school in Starkville. He is also expected to be back on campus this coming weekend for his official visit. Taylor committed to Mississippi State last year and remains very confident about his Bulldog decision, largely due to his relationship with head coach Jeff Lebby.

“I love it at State,” said Taylor, who is competing at the Elite 11 Finals this week. “I don’t want to be anywhere else. I have great relationships with all of the coaches and those relationships grow stronger every day. Coach Lebby wants me there and said I am the guy. He wants to help me win the Heisman Trophy.”

Of course, Taylor also grew up on State football. He is the nephew of former Bulldog quarterback Omarr Connor and is ready to lead State to new heights in the future.

“Just the atmosphere, and the history behind Mississippi State,” mentioned Taylor. “Me being a Mississippi guy, I know this team can be and the potential of the Mississippi State program. So we have to help the program turned that potential into reality.”

Taylor is also planning to start his State career sooner than later. He has put in the work inside the class room over the past couple of years and will enroll at State in January of 2025.

“That’s going to help me out a lot,” Taylor noted of early enrolling. “I get a jump on a lot of people and I get an early start in the playbook. It’s going to allow me to get an early jump on the terminology of college football.”

And from now until signing day in December, Taylor wants to surround himself with other elite talent from the Magnolia State. He noted of a few guys that he continues to recruit for the Bulldogs in hopes of getting them to join him in State’s Class of 2025.

“I’m still on a lot of guys like Caleb Cunningham, Mario Nash and Akylin Dear,” remarked Taylor. “AD (Dear) is still committed to Ole Miss but I am still talking to him. I am going to try my hardest to get Caleb and Nash here with me.”
