Two days into the MLB Draft, Mississippi State has had plenty of action.

Night one of the draft was an eventful one for the maroon and white as State had three different players drafted within the first two rounds. Ambidextrous pitcher Jurrangelo Cijntje was the first off the board when the Seattle Mariners took him with the 15th pick overall. Cijntje became the Bulldogs’ 20th MLB Draft pick in the first round and improved his stock tremendously from an 18th round selection as a short stop out of high school.

With the 27th pick, the Philadelphia Phillies took the Bulldogs’ top rated signee as Michigan’s Mr. Baseball OF Dante Nori came off the board. In the second round, the Bulldogs’ Friday night starter Khal Stephen was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays with the 59th pick overall.

On day two, the conversation surrounded Dakota Jordan and if he would fall enough to make his way back to school. That was answered in the fourth round as the San Francisco Giants selected the All-American OF. Prior to that, State RHP Nate Dohm was selected by the New York Mets.

MSU also had RHP Brooks Auger taken in day two as he went to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the sixth round. State lost its second signee of the class in RHP/SS Conrad Cason going to the Boston Red Sox in the eighth round. Monday concluded with junior RHP Colby Holcombe being drafted by the Blue Jays in the ninth round.

The final day is on the way on Tuesday with State fans still waiting out players like David Mershon, Hunter Hines and Travis Smith.

Fans looking to keep up with the conversation and the picks can follow the live running thread on the Maroon and White True Maroon message board. The picks are also updated on the first page of the thread for fans to follow along without wading through the conversation.
