NC State Newsstand: Wolfpack center Zeke Correll named to Outland Trophy Watch List

Graduate center Zeke Correll has yet to take a snap at NC State, but he is already making national waves with his elite play on the offensive line. 

Correll, a former Notre Dame transfer, was named to the Outland Trophy Watch List on Tuesday, the eve of the Wolfpack’s first day of fall camp. The award, which is handed out at the end of the season, honors the top interior offensive lineman in college football. 

The Cincinnati, Ohio, native was a three-yard starter with the Fighting Irish, and he excelled on an elite offensive line. He arrived in Raleigh with 31 career starts and has only allowed just three sacks in 1,019 pass blocking opportunities. 

Correll was a Joe Moore Award semifinalist last season, which goes to the top center in college football. He was one of 14 players to earn the recognition. 

Before Correll impressed on the collegiate level, he was a four-star prospect, the No. 99 overall recruit in the 2019 cycle out of Anderson (Ohio) High School.Correll was an Under Armour All-American, as well as first team All-State selection as a senior.

NC State graduate running back Jordan Waters arrived in Raleigh through the transfer portal in January. He’s a well-known tailback in the ACC and he impressed North Carolina linebacker Power Echols during his time at Duke. 

“We had to give everything we’ve got to get him on the ground,”Echols said. “I feel like he’s a great player and someone you’ve got to game plan for for sure.”
