Nebraska middle blocker Andi Jackson earns first Big Ten weekly award
Nebraska middle blocker Andi Jackson is the Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week for the first time this season.
She helped lead the Huskers to two four-set wins over Northwestern and Illinois.
The 6-foot-3 freshman averaged 2.13 kills per set and 1.14 blocks per set. She recorded an astounding .714 hitting percentage.

Against Northwestern, Jackson had eight kills, six blocks and hit .600. The middle blocker backed it up with nine kills, three blocks and a career-high .818 hitting percentage against Illinois. She didn’t record a single error against the Illini.
Her .423 season-hitting percentage ranks second in the Big Ten. During her freshman season, Jackson is averaging 2.16 kills per set and 1.1 blocks per set.

Jackson is one of the three Nebraska players to earn the Big Ten Freshman of the Week award this season. She joins outside hitter Harper Murray (three-time winner) and setter Bergen Reilly (twice).

The middle blocker is also one of six Husker players to win a Big Ten weekly award this season. Along with the three freshmen, opposite hitter Merritt Beason, outside hitter Lindsay Krause and libero Lexi Rodriguez have earned an award.
