In a weekly YouTube live show, Blue & Gold’s Tim Hyde and Mike Singer discuss and react to the latest news and notes in the world of Notre Dame football and recruiting.

There was a double whammy of bad news on the recruiting front for Marcus Freeman and Co. over the weekend. It started on Saturday afternoon with Warner Robins (Ga.) High receiver Isiah Canion announcing his decommitment from Notre Dame, and two days later, he completed a flip to Georgia Tech.

On Sunday evening, Chicago St. Ignatius five-star defensive lineman Justin Scott, a longtime Irish target, committed to Ohio State. The guys react to both notable news items and give more Notre Dame recruiting updates.

It is not a show to miss for Fighting Irish fans. Watch it in the video player below!

The show begins Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. ET. If you are unable to watch it live, you can simply watch a replay by clicking play below.

Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco class of 2024 linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa announced a top three schools list of Notre Dame, Ohio State and USC back on April 28. His plan was to officially visit each school in June and then commit to one of them before the start of his senior season.

The elite prospect is holding to that plan. He officially visited all three programs in June and tweeted Monday afternoon that he’ll be announcing his decision July 23.

Notre Dame currently leads for Viliamu-Asa according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) at 73 percent — in large part due to an insider pick from Blue & Gold — but in all reality, it’s a tight battle for him.

Here’s what Viliamu-Asa recently told On3 about each of his finalists following his official visit to each program:

Ohio State: “Everything was great. I loved it, my parents loved it. We spent a lot of time with the staff and we had a chance to see a lot of Ohio State and what comes with the university … It was important for my family to be able to meet the staff and meet the people who they potentially could be leaving their son with. They did a really good job of presenting who they really are.”
