Buckeyes draw mid-afternoon kickoff for Tulsa matchup
COLUMBUS — The slate of Ohio State noon games will take a break in mid-September.
Multiple TV networks announced kickoff times for the opening half of the college football season Thursday afternoon, confirming the Buckeyes will play a mid-afternoon game against Tulsa after their Big Noon showdown with Oregon.
FS1 will broadcast the non-conference matchup from Ohio Stadium, which is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. The game will mark Ohio State’s second outside of the conference this fall before wrapping up non-Big Ten action up a week later against Akron. Kickoff time and TV information for the game with the Zips hasn’t been announced yet.
FOX will broadcast the Buckeyes season opener Sept. 2 at Minnesota. Kickoff has been set for 8 p.m.
Ohio State is already scheduled to play both Michigan and Oregon in the noon slot on FOX. The list of noon games continues to grow, as the Buckeyes will host Maryland on Oct. 9 at noon. No television details have been announced yet.

“Having fans back in the stands for our players to get that response and feedback after a great play and that support when you walk in the stadium, because … call it for what it is: That’s part of the reason why these guys play,†Ohio State coach Ryan Day said. “They love it. They love playing in front of fans and they didn’t have that this past year.â€
The last time the Buckeyes and Golden Hurricane met was back in 2016 at the Horseshoe. Malik Hooker and cornerback Marshon Lattimore each returned interceptions for touchdowns as Ohio State picked up a 48-3 victory. Mike Weber rushed for 92 yards on 17 carries and scored his first touchdown at Ohio State.
Ohio State still hasn’t announced its attendance plans for the upcoming season, but everything seems on track for a full Horseshoe by the fall.
For now, the Buckeyes know the first half of their schedule is starting to fall in place.
