COLUMBUS — Ohio State is making some changes to its 2025 nonconference slate.

In fact, Ohio State has made two changes to its 2025 football schedule. The Buckeyes will not be playing UConn on Oct. 18. They have replaced that game with a home matchup against Grambling State University on Sept. 6.

According to the Buckeyes athletic department, Ohio State and UConn mutually agreed to cancel the game and modify their respective schedules.

The Buckeyes’ 2025 non-conference schedule now includes home games against Texas on Aug. 30, Grambling on Sept. 6 and Ohio on Sept. 13.

Ohio State has never played Grambling State. The Buckeyes last hosted an HBCU when they beat Florida A&M 76-0 in 2013.

The Oct. 18, 2025, date is now open for Ohio State, likely to be filled by an off week or a Big Ten conference opponent.

Ohio State will have three nonconference opponents in 2024, as well. Those games are against Akron on Aug. 31, against Western Michigan on Sept. 7 and against Marshall on Sept. 21.
