COLUMBUS – Ohio State pulled out a gritty win over Penn State last weekend.

The Buckeyes carried that grit with them to Lincoln on Saturday as they entered Memorial Stadium and beat Nebraska but left with another win that wasn’t aesthetically pleasing in a 26-17 victory.

Buckeyes quarterback C.J. Stroud was without star wide receiver Garrett Wilson, but he was still able to dish the ball around to Chris Olave, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Co.

Smith-Njigba especially made light work of the Nebraska secondary, notably on an explosive 75-yard catch-and-run touchdown, as he finished with the most single-game receptions (15) and second-most single-game receiving yards (240) in Ohio State history.

The Buckeyes defense made life difficult for Cornhuskers quarterback Adrian Martinez, and it all added up to another win over Nebraska as the Buckeyes have rattled off seven consecutive victories over their Big Ten counterpart ever since falling to the Cornhuskers in 2011.

“It’s hard to win in this conference, and it’s hard to win on the road,” Ohio State coach Ryan Day said after the game.

Next up for Ohio State will be a home game against Purdue, a major showdown against Michigan State and then The Game against Michigan to wrap up the regular season. The Buckeyes still have momentum as they seek a fifth straight conference championship and continue to build to what they hope will be a third straight College Football Playoff appearance.

Until then, the Buckeyes will be enjoying another Big Ten win.

Lettermen Row photographer Jeremy Birmingham was on the sidelines to capture all of Saturday’s action against the Cornhuskers. You can check out those photos from the game in the gallery below.
