Buckeyes Looking To Flip Key Targets During Pivotal Recruiting Weekend Ohio State Recruiting

COLUMBUS — Ohio State is set to welcome a number of impressive and talented recruits onto campus this weekend. The Buckeyes, after two consecutive weeks on the road, return home to Ohio Stadium for a primetime tilt against Michigan State.

With that of course means the return of recruits inside the Horseshoe and there are more than a few that Lettermen Row is eager to see walk in through the South Tunnel.

Three prospects, however, deserve the most attention and that’s where the latest episode of the Lettermen Lounge begins.

Co-hosts Spencer Holbrook and Matt Parker waste no time getting into those three targets, all of which are in the 2024 cycle and committed elsewhere. It starts with three-star Coopersville (Mich) interior offensive lineman Gabe VanSickle. The Northwestern commit will make an official visit to Ohio State this weekend. It’s his second game-day visit to Ohio State this fall, his first being for the Penn State game on Oct. 21.

The Buckeyes have a critical need for more offensive linemen in the 2024 class. Could VanSickle flip his commitment from the Wildcats to the Buckeyes? This weekend will be an important piece to that potential outcome.

Moving along, the next visitor is four-star Fort Lauderdale (Fla) St. Thomas Aquinas wide receiver Chance Robinson. The Miami commit is fresh off an official visit to Ole Miss that opened his eyes just a bit about his potential decision. Now the Buckeyes have the same opportunity to do that. Ohio State has room for one more wide receiver in its impressive 2024 haul. Robinson has plenty to think about as he intends on signing somewhere in December.

Will it be Ohio State?

Four-star Clinton (N.C.) defensive lineman Amaris Williams is the final of the three 2024 prospects we talked about on the show. Williams is committed to Florida but made an official visit to Ohio State for the Penn State game. He now returns on an unofficial, a very positive sign for the Buckeyes’ flip efforts. They have stiff competition, however. Florida is clinging to Williams and Tennessee has entered the mix.

Williams is also leaning toward a December decision to officially end his recruitment.

Along with those three prospects, we chat about a number of 2025 prospects heading to Columbus and even a pair of 2026 quarterbacks.
