Ole Miss is not feeling the love from Electronic Arts Sports this week as the video game company rolls out its rankings in different categories ahead of next month’s launch of the anticipated NCAA College Football 25 game.

Earlier this week the Rebels were not considered to have an intimidating home atmosphere by EA, leaving Vaught-Hemingway Stadium out of the Top 25 toughest places to play.

Now maybe that is a fair assessment as VHS has not traditionally been a stalwart among the toughest atmospheres in college football but the Rebels have worked to change that image over the last few seasons.

On Thursday EA released its rankings for top offenses with Ole Miss and its host of weapons being slotted outside the Top 10 at No. 13 with an overall rating of 87. In reality the Rebels are tied for 10th as Clemson, Utah, Penn State, Kansas, Arizona and North Carolina State all have an overall offense rating of 87.

Without a further broken down explanation provided by EA, or Pro Football Focus who worked with them to help create the rankings, then Ole Miss had a Top 10 offense, as it should.

The Rebels are considered by many throughout college football to be returning one of the more potent offenses in the country this season. Quarterback Jaxson Dart leads an offense that features receivers Tre Harris, Jordan Watkins, Juice Wells and Deion Smith. Tight end Caden Prieskorn and transfer Dae’Quan Wright highlight that position room and the running backs look to be by committee with Ulysses Bentley IV and former Rebel and Miami transfer Henry Parrish, Jr. leading that group.

What led to Ole Miss being the 13th overall offense and fourth team among those with 87 ratings is not known or explained by EA. The overall rating is usually an average of the individual player ratings, which EA is going to roll out next month ahead of the game’s launch.

The Rebels are the sixth highest-rated offense among Southeastern Conference teams. Georgia takes the top spot with a 94 overall rating following by Alabama at No. 3 (91), Texas at No. 4 (91), LSU at No. 6 (89) and Missouri at No. 9 (89) are ahead of Ole Miss.

Texas A&M at No. 18 (85) and Oklahoma at No. 23 (83) are the other SEC teams included in the Top 25 offenses.

EA also released its Top 25 defense rankings and the Rebels were not included among those.
