When you have one of the top-ranked recruiting classes in the country, it’s going to get a lot of attention. And the sharks are bound to circle the waters.

One of Oregon’s top defensive commits is taking advantage of the open weekend with a trip to Austin.

InsideTexas.com recruiting analyst Justin Wells is reporting Oregon’s defensive line commit Josiah Sharma is on campus for a visit. This open weekend is serving as a last chance for recruits to visit schools before the August dead period.

The Folsom (Calif.) standout had committed to Oregon over Alabama and Texas on June 28. It was a big win for Lanning and his staff with a shortage of defensive linemen in the Western footprint. The 6-foot-3, 320-pounder is the No. 268 ranked player in the On3 Industry Rankings.

Oregon is expected to host a strong group of visitors this weekend. Our list will be coming out soon as plans are being finalized.

Fellow Oregon commit, tight end DaSaahn Brame is also expected to visit Tennessee this weekend. The Vols have been trending for Brame ahead of this visit.

Oregon currently has 16 verbal commits currently. The Ducks have the No. 5 ranked recruiting class nationally.
