Where is Penn State in the EA Sports College Football 25 overall rankings?
Penn State football is a top 10 team in the mind of many media members who released preseason rankings ahead of the 2024 season. The creators of EA Sports College Football 25 agree with them. Head coach James Franklin’s virtual team has an offense rating of 87 overall, which is good for the No. 12 spot on that side of the ball. On defense, the Lions check in with an 88 overall rating, which is good for No. 9. Put it all together, and Penn State sits at No. 9 in the game’s overall rankings with a rating of 88 overall.
Georgia leads the way with a 95 overall rating. Ohio State (93 overall), Oregon (93), Alabama (92), and Texas (92) round out the top five. Clemson (90), Notre Dame (90), and LSU (90) are all in front of Penn State in that order. Six teams also hold an 88 overall rating like the Lions do: Utah, Michigan, Florida State, Miami, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss, which sit in the Nos. 10-15 spots, respectively. Other Big Ten foes in the EA top 25 include Wisconsin (No. 18, 87 overall), USC (19/87), and Iowa (25/87).
EA Sports College Football 25 goes comes out for video game players July 19. However, those who preorder will receive access on July 16.
Penn State focused on summer workouts as July approaches
While most of the college football world is focused on the rankings release tied to the video game this week, Penn State continues to have a singular focus on summer workouts, where it aims to set the foundation for next month’s preseason camp.
“Our leadership has to be dialed in at the end of this six weeks, because what you’ve got at the end of this six weeks, going into the fall camp, is pretty much what you’ve got up until mid-January, early-February,” head strength coach Chuck Losey said earlier this month. “So that’s probably the biggest thing we got to get dialed in outside of physical things.”
