SMU QB commit Keelon Russell nabs On3 Elite Series invite
SMU four-star commit and 2025 Duncanville (Tex.) quarterback Keelon Russell continues his ascent into a national name this offseason. On Thursday, he landed an invitation from On3 to the On3 Elite Series at the end of May.
For high school prospects, it’s a one-of-a-kind event for athletes to attend. Russell will join a star-studded list of prospects that includes his teammate, Five Star Plus+ wide receiver Dakorien Moore.
On3, the market leader in the Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) space, will once again host the On3 Elite Series, an invitation-only event for elite 2025 football prospects that will take place on May 28-30, 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee.
The purpose of the On3 Elite Series is to educate and inform high school athletes how to safely and successfully navigate the NIL era. On3 Elite will bring in former college and professional athletes, marketing executives, legal and financial experts, and other relevant voices to a private two-day event designed for 50 top high school football recruits, along with their parents, from the class of 2025.
“I really appreciate you all giving us the opportunity to receive all this information and make so many relationships,” 2024 four-star EDGE Jordan Ross said of the experience. “This was the best experience I have had while on this journey.”
There are few higher honors for high school quarterbacks than being invited to the Elite 11 Finals. The event, which will celebrate its 25th year in 2024, brings together the country’s elite signal-callers for three days of competition and training in Los Angeles. Russell also holds an invite to the event after his impressive performance this spring in Austin.
Russell is now fresh off an official visit to Ole Miss. He’ll return for his official with SMU in May, and according to Alabama recruiting insider Andrew Bone, he’s set to officially visit Tuscaloosa during the weekend of May 31. An official visit to Florida is currently scheduled for the following week in June, while Texas is another school looking to flip the in-stater.
Following On3’s latest rankings update, Russell now checks in as the No. 81 overall recruit and No. 8 QB in the 2025 On300. He’s also now the No. 78 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
