2024 Lake Cormorant (Miss.) defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin released his Top 10 on Christmas Eve and Texas A&M cracked the list.

The other nine schools in his top schools pecking order are Ole Miss, Miami, Mississippi State, Alabama, Michigan, Florida State, South Carolina, Texas and Tennessee.

Franklin is a big fan of Texas A&M, visiting College Station three times since July. There is a sense that the Aggies will be involved with Franklin for the long run and pose a major threat to the in-state schools. The Aggies have landed more than 10 top-100 defensive lineman in the last five recruiting cycles, so if there were any position the Aggies can pull a five-star level prospect from a different state, its on the defensive line.

In his junior season, the 6-foot-5, 260 pound prospect from the Magnolia State had 93 tackles, 48 quarterback pressures, 19 sacks, nine tackles for loss, two passes defended, one fumble recovery and one defensive touchdown.

A major SEC influence in Franklin’s recruitment

Ole Miss leads Franklin’s Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 24.3% chance to land him, while Alabama is in second with a 21.3% chance at his commitment. The Aggies are running third at 18.2% and Tennessee is at 10.3%, sitting in fourth.

Franklin has an On3 NIL Valuation of $97K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Franklin is the No. 25 overall prospect and No. 5 defensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Mississippi.

Kamarion Franklin On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Kamarion Franklin:

“Edge defender that projects to DT who wreaks havoc on opposing offenses with his get off and brute strength. Ran an electronically-timed 5.28 40 and jumped a 25” vertical in the spring prior to his junior season. A two-sport athlete who also plays basketball. Disruptive off the edge and lives in the backfield. Totaled 11 sacks as a junior. Instinctive and heady player for a sophomore. Has some hip stiffness but makes up for it with foot speed and play recognition.”
