BREAKING: Five-star linebacker Anthony Hill decommits from Texas A&M
Devastating news has hit Texas A&M as Denton (Tex.) Guyer five-star linebacker Anthony Hill has announced his decommitment from the Aggies.
The 6-foot-2, 220 pounder had been committed to the Aggies since July, but with the trajectory of the Aggies season, Hill makes a move.
With less than 50 days until the early signing period, Texas A&M now sits at only 11 commitments. The Texas A&M recruiting class sits at No. 15 in the nation and No. 6 in the SEC. Due to the struggles from the Aggies this season, there is a chance that more attrition could take place from the current class.

Jimbo Fisher and the recruiting staff will need some miraculous moves to finish out the year on a high note. There is a low amount of uncommitted prospects left on the board and the staff is hoping to flip a number of prospects. Those chances seem bleak as of now.

Statement to On3 regarding his decommitment:
First, I would like to thank Texas A&m, Coach Santucci, and staff for recruiting and developing a personal relationship with me and my family.
Thank you to the Texas A&M fans who have been a great support throughout my recruitment.
After further difficult discussions with my family, I will be decommitting from Texas A&M and opening up my recruitment
Anthony Hill Jr. Scouting Summary
“Downhill linebacker with good size and straight-line speed,” On3’s Director of Scouting Charles Power wrote. “Has starred for one of the top defenses in Texas high school football since his sophomore season. Combines his speed with a high effort level, resulting in a highly productive player at the high school level. At his best when he can use his closing speed as a blitzer or in pursuit sideline-to-sideline. Shows some physicality as a striker. Has one of the longer wing-spans of top linebackers in the 2023 cycle. Provides added value as a pass rusher and may eventually grow into an EDGE prospect down the line. Has a penchant for forcing turnovers and looks to strip the football often.”
The Lone Star state linebacker currently ranks as the No. 18 player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that accounts for all four major recruiting services. He also tabs in as the No. 1 linebacker and the No. 3 player in the state of Texas.
