Elite 2024 LB Sammy Brown reacts to Texas A&M offer
Texas A&M offered 2024 Jefferson (Ga.) High four-star linebacker Sammy Brown, the No. 11 prospect and No. 2 linebacker in the country per the On3 Consensus, last week after months of monitoring the talented sophomore.
“It was awesome,” he said. “Coach Santucci actually came to my track meet and offered me there.”
Brown, who stands 6-foot-2, 215 pounds, added that he’s been in contact with Santucci for a couple months. The Aggies’ linebacker coach has been monitoring the talented sophomore for some time, but waited till seeing Brown in person before offering.
For Brown, the history of Texas A&M’s program and recent success under Jimbo Fisher stands out to him.
“Texas A&M is a very historical program,” he said. “They know how to get it done when they need to. The Alabama game last year is a perfect example.”
Brown is not just one of the top linebackers in the 2024 cycle, but one of the top athletes in the cycle. The four-star plays on both sides of the ball for Jefferson — linebacker on defense and running back on offense. In seven games as a junior, Brown rushed for 753 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also had 35 tackles and a sack.
“I kinda pride myself in my speed and physicality, but also my effort too. Where almost everyone at the best level is going to have speed and be physical, I really wanna separate myself with 110 percent effort,” Brown Brown told The Bengal Tiger. “I have very good instincts when it comes to defense. I think playing on offense plays a pretty good role in that. Can kinda tell what they’re running just because of how they’re lined up, formations, etc.”
Off the field, Brown is a state champion wrestler who also shines in track, including a 10.92 100-meter dash and a 21-foot plus long jump as a freshman last year.
Brown noted that Texas A&M is a school he plans to get down to this offseason, but hasn’t set a visit just yet.

“We’re going to sit down and look at our schedule here soon, but Texas A&M is definitely a school we want to get out to when we get the chance,” he said.
Outside of Texas A&M, Brown lists Georgia, Tennessee and Clemson as schools especially standing out to him, but is wide open to all schools that have offered him.
“Every school I’ve been to has been a great experience and given me something to think about,” he said. “Places like Georgia Tennessee and Clemson being some of them. But there hasn’t been a school so far that I have not liked.”
Just a sophomore, Brown knows what he’s looking for from a school.
“A great culture and a great coaching staff,” he said. “Football is temporary and it’s not going to last forever. So I’m looking for a place that’s going to replace someone like my dad and be a great mentor for me.”
Brown ranks as the No. 11 prospect and No. 2 linebacker in the country per the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. The four-star has an On3 NIL Valuation of $122K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
