2023 Fort Lauderdal (Fla.) Stranahan five-star wide receiver Hykeem Williams is down to six schools and has a commitment date of Sept. 23.

In addition to Texas A&M, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Pitt and Alabama remain involved in the five-star’s recruitment, with a decision just weeks away.

Williams made official visits to Georgia and Pitt, and made unofficial trips to both Florida State and Texas A&M this summer. He stopped through College Station June 10, and spent six days in town. Coming out of his most recent visit down to Aggieland, Texas A&M emerged as the school to beat. However, since then, both the Bulldogs and Seminoles have surged as well and it appears the three programs have some ground on Miami, Pitt and Alabama.

Still, as things stand, the Aggies hold a commanding lead in the five-star’s recruitment per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, with an 89.3% chance to land his commitment.

“I’ve got a great relationship with a few coaches on the coaching staff including Coach Fisher,” Williams told On3’s Hayes Fawcett. “College Station is just amazing.”

Ahead of his decision, look for Williams to return to College Station at least once, potentially even for an official visit.

Here’s what Charles Power, On3’s Director of Scouting and Rankings had to say about Williams:

“Physically-developed receiver with plus body control and burst. Possesses the balance and agility to make defenders miss in the open field as well as the juice to get upfield and pull through arm tackles after the catch. Has a big frame that carries his weight with ease. Measured 6-foot-2.5, 193 pounds with a 6-foot-4.5 wing-span as a junior.”

“Shows vertical ability on 50-50 balls and on the hardwood as a basketball player. Averaged a double-double in points (12.2) and rebounds (10.3) on the basketball court as a junior. Totalled 31 receptions for 693 yards and 6 touchdowns his junior season. Will develop a more diverse route tree as he transitions to the college game. Has all the physical tools to potentially turn into a dominant X-type receiver at the next level. On the older end among prospects in the 2023 cycle, turning 18 during his junior season.”

Williams ranks as the No. 22 prospect and No. 3 wide receiver in the country per the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. The four-star has an On3 NIL Valuation of $198K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
