Rising 2025 DL Ethan Utley sets first Texas A&M game day visit
Rising 2025 Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth defensive lineman Ethan Utley announced he’ll be making his first game day visit to College Station this weekend to see the Aggies take on LSU.
Utley was offered by the staff in the spring of 2022 and made his first trip down in June for an unofficial visit.
“Texas A&M lived up to the standard that everybody around had been like talking very highly of them,” he told Aggie Scoop after the visit. “Just being able to get down there myself and see College Station and what Texas A&M stands for was a great experience altogether.”
For Utley, the reception from the staff from the moment he arrived on campus stuck out to him.
“What specifically stood out was how hands on the coaches were and how technical Texas A&M was showing why they’re one of the best, if not the best college football team in the country,” he said. “And just how energetic and welcoming everybody on the staff was.”
Utley has primarily been in communication with denfeisve line coach Elijah Robinson, who he has a great relationship with early on.
“Me and him are in the process, and already have a great relationship in my opinion,” he said. “He’s just really cool to talk to, he relates well, and he’s an easy guy you can talk to and just bring up and break down film, even if you’re not talking about football, he’s just like a great guy to talk to.”
Seeing campus and the city of College Station for the first time, the freshman dorms and facilities stood out to him, as did the size of College Station.

“I was actually surprised how big it was considering most college towns are small and they only revolve around whichever college is within that town,” he said. “And so seeing that, College Station is a bigger city….it’s just cool to see it’s like a real community rather than rather than just like all about Texas A&M.”
Utley opted the make the trip because of glowing reviews from teammates and peers about their experience with Texas A&M. One in particular is freshman defensive lineman Lebbeus Overton, who recently enrolled at Texas A&M after reclassifying from the 2023 cycle to the 2022 cycle.
“He was checking on me while I was there,” Utley said. “So that was cool to know somebody I know is there and that he put his trust in the Texas A&M system.”
Utley will have a chance to see Overton and the Aggies in action against LSU, as Texas A&M looks to close out a disappointing 2022 season on a high note with a win over the rival Tigers.
The sophomore is currently unranked per the On3 Consensus, but holds over 20 offers to date, including schools like Florida, Michigan, Tennessee, LSU and Ole Miss.
