Texas A&M in the top eight for four-star EDGE Bai Jobe

2023 Norman (Okla.) Community Christian School four-star EDGE Bai Jobe is down to eight schools: Alabama, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Baylor, Michigan State, Miami, Oklahoma and Texas A&M.

In addition, per sources, Jobe is set to return to College Station in the last weekend of July, joining 2023 Marlin (Tex.) High four-star EDGE/linebacker Derion Gullette and Denton (Tex.) Ryan five-star linebacker Anthony Hill as notable linebacker/EDGE prospects expected to be in town, for what’s setting up to be a massive recruiting weekend for Aggies.

Hailing originally from Senegal, Jobe moved to the United States as an exchange student in middle school and didn’t start playing football until midway through his freshman year of high school. Still relatively new to the game, the four-star is still figuring everything out, but his upside has coaches tantalized, with schools like Georgia, Alabama, Oklahoma and Texas A&M already in the mix for the 6-foot-5, 225 pound edge rusher. 

The Aggies offered Jobe back in February, and the Aggies have worked themselves into the mix thanks to the efforts of defensive ends coach Terry Price, who he’s known since camping in College Station last summer. 

“I like him a lot,” he previously told Aggie Scoop. “Last year, I went to the camp and I feel like he was always trying to push me to go harder and harder and I liked that a lot.” 

On his return visit, Jobe previously noted that he hopes to see more of the campus, talk to the coaches and explore the facilities more in-depth on his return visit.

When it comes time to make a decision, Jobe is primarily looking for development and comfort level. 

“I’m just looking for somewhere I can feel like the coaches really understand me and know that I’m new at football, to teach me the game and stuff like that,” he said. “That’s all I’m looking for.” 

Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia and Vanderbilt are among schools to watch in his recruitment. A recent visit to Georgia left a big impression. As things stand, Vanderbilt leads for the four-star per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, which gives the Commodores a 25.5% chance to land him. In-state Oklahoma trails in second with a 16.9% chance to land the four-star who currently lives in Norman.

Jobe ranks as the No. 73 prospect and No. 9 EDGE in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks even higher in the On300, as the No. 25 prospect and No. 5 EDGE. The four-star has an NIL Valuation of $7.6K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
