2023 Dickinson (Tex.) High three-star cornerback Vernon Glover, Jr. has cut his list of double-digit offers to five: ColoradoFlorida StateHoustonTCU and Texas A&M.

“These five schools stuck out most because of how consistent they have been recruiting me and how I could see myself being part of their program,” Glover told On3. “Based on my visits and talking with the coaches, these five have what I am looking for.”

Despite a loaded board at defensive back, Texas A&M has maintained consistent communication with Glover and even hosted him on campus multiple times in the last year.

“Me and Coach Rushing, the DB coach, we talk like every day or [at least] one day a week,” he said. “And me and Coach Fisher, we get on the phone every once in a while.”

In addition to communication with the coaching staff, also hears from Texas A&M freshmen Donovan Green and P.J Williams, his former high school teammates, who are pushing the junior to join the Dickinson to Texas A&M pipeline.

“Texas A&M is building that pipeline to Dickson, so I have to keep them in the mix,” Glover told On3’s Chad Simmons. “The recruiting class they had last year was special and they are building something. I know if I played for Coach Fisher and Coach Rushing, they would get me right.”

Glover plans to make a return visit to College Station at some point in the near future, but doesn’t have a date locked down yet. The junior is a three-sport athlete, starring on the basketball court and on the track in the offseason, in addition to playing 7-on-7 with CAT Takeover and DOMO, which limited his ability to make visits in the spring.

As it stands, Houston appears to lead for the three-star per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, with a 95.2% chance to land the talented multi-sport athlete, after On3’s Chad Simmons inputted a prediction in favor of the Cougars on Friday.

Glover has visited Houston over a half dozen times and has built a great rapport with the staff and program.

“I have always thought I could go anywhere, but with Houston, I could stay home and be great,” he told On3. “Staying home and playing for coach Belk and that staff has been on my mind. It is right down the road and I am comfortable there.”

Outside of the Aggies and Cougars, TCU and Colorado remain heavily involved. Florida State rounds out his top five and though he has yet to return to Tallahassee since landing the offer last summer, the history at Florida State, especially their production at cornerback, has the Seminoles high on his list.

Glover ranks as a three-star prospect per the On3 Consensus and On300 rankings. He ranks outside the On300 but ranks as the No. 78 cornerback in the country with a grade of 86.
