USC was named in a new top group by a blue-chip defender on Monday afternoon. Indianapolis (Ind.) Ben Davis four-star cornerback Mark Zackery trimmed his recruitment down to 10 programs.

The 6-foot, 155-pounder is down to USC, Notre Dame, Cincinnati, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Purdue, Penn State, and Tennessee.

Zackery ranks as the No. 133 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 16 cornerback and the No. 1 player in the state of Indiana.

Zackery helped lead Ben Davis to a state championship in Indiana’s top classification this past football season. He registered 39 tackles (37 solo), 9 pass breakups, 4 interceptions, 3 fumble recoveries and 2 caused fumbles in 14 games.

Zackery was also a key offensive contributor. He caught 53 passes for 823 yards (15.5 yards per catch) and 8 touchdowns.

On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently has the Notre Dame Fighting Irish as the heavy favorite to land a commitment from Zackery at 86.1%. Zackery has unofficially visited Notre Dame four times, more than any other school.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

He currently does not have a listed On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

USC recruiting cornerbacks

The USC Trojans have publicly offered 18 cornerbacks in the class of 2025, so far holding zero commitments. There was a big emphasis on the position in the 2024 class, signing four cornerbacks out of high school and the portal as well as an additional five safeties, some of which will likely play cornerback.

It is unsure how many cornerbacks the staff will be looking to take in this cycle, but with a new staff in place, there is a good chance the Trojans will be involved with a number of elite prospects at the position.
