Alabama CB transfer Dezz Ricks visiting LSU, Texas A&M
Alabama cornerback Dezz Ricks will take visits to LSU and Texas A&M, he told Zach Blostein of Noles247. Ricks officially entered the NCAA transfer portal on Monday and is leaving Tuscaloosa after just one season with the program.
Ricks was originally a member of the 2024 class but reclassified before committing to Alabama. He wound up playing in two games as a true freshman but according to his official roster page, both were on special teams.
LSU was considered the runner-up for Ricks during his high school recruitment. Now, the Tigers will have another shot at landing him, with there still being four years of eligibility remaining. Texas A&M will have a say in the matter as well, with Ricks likely not leaving the SEC.
Ricks played high school football at IMG Academy, where he was a five-star prospect, but is originally from Chesapeake, VA. He was the No. 18 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
