Arizona defensive back Tacario Davis plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal. He spent the past two seasons with the Wildcats and will have two years of eligibility remaining. On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported the news.

Davis appeared in just five games as a true freshman but would go on to start in 11 of 13 contests this past season. He led the Pac-12 with 16 passes defended while also finished with 25 tackles and one interception. He was named second team all-conference according to the Associated Press for his efforts.

As a recruit, Davis was a three-star prospect out of Millikan High School in Long Beach, California. He ranked as the No. 1,183 overall player and No. 114 cornerback in the 2022 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Tacario Davis’ decision to transfer comes after Wildcats coach Jedd Fisch left to become the next head coach at Washington. With that in mind, the Huskies will be a potential landing spot to watch for the talented defensive back.

Arizona in the transfer portal

Once he is officially in the portal, Davis will become the 15th player to hit the transfer portal from the Wildcats. On the other side of things, Arizona has brought in four players via the transfer portal this cycle.

The recent portal additions for the Wildcats — including as many as nine in a 30-minute span on Wednesday night — come after the departure of head coach Jedd Fisch. Washington hired Fisch to replace Kalen DeBoer, who left his job for Alabama.
