Arizona Wildcats point guard Kylan Boswell has entered the Transfer Portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.

Boswell spent two seasons at Arizona. During his time there, he played in 71 games and started 35 games. All of those starts came during the 2023-2024 season. During that sophomore campaign, Boswell averaged 9.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. He also shot 39.6 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from three-point range.

Coming out of high school, Kylan Boswell was a four-star recruit in the Class of 2022, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He was the third-ranked point guard and the 32nd-ranked player overall in that class.

A native of Champaign, Illinois, Boswell chose to go to Arizona over Illinois and UNLV among other programs. He also reclassified from the Class of 2023 to the Class of 2022 to go to Arizona early.

In head coach Tommy Lloyd‘s third season at Arizona, the Wildcats were one of the best teams in the country. The Wildcats finished the season with a 27-9 record and won the Pac-12 during the regular season. Then, in the NCAA Tournament, Arizona made it to the Sweet 16, where the Wildcats lost to the Clemson Tigers.

The 2024-25 season will see the Arizona Wildcats move from the Pac-12 to the Big 12 conference.

To keep up with the latest players on the move, check out On3’s Transfer Portal wire.

Arizona and the Transfer Portal

The Transfer Portal opened on March 18th, 2024 for men’s basketball. That was the day after Selection Sunday and it will be open for 45 days from that point. However, many coaches were frustrated with the timing that the portal opened because it conflicted with postseason tournaments, forcing coaches to evaluate their rosters and available players while prepping for key games.

Another result of that timing is that players on teams who made tournaments likely weren’t going to be able to enter the Transfer Portal until after their season ended.

At Arizona, there have been four players who have entered the Transfer Portal, including Kylan Boswell. All four of the players who have entered the portal did so following the team being eliminated from the NCAA Tournament. That includes names like Filip Borovicanin, Paulius Murauskas, and Oumar Ballo.

To this point, Arizona hasn’t added any transfer commitments from the Transfer Portal. However, given the losses to the portal, it’s likely that Tommy Lloyd is going to use the portal to try and fill gaps in the roster and improve ahead of next season.
