Former Michigan State quarterback Sam Leavitt has chosen his next school. Leavitt has committed to Arizona State, he announced.

The former four-star quarterback announced last month that he was entering the transfer portal. Leavitt was ranked as the No. 24 quarterback and No. 381 overall player in the country in the class of 2023, according to the On3 Industry rankings.

Leavitt will play for former Oregon offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham at Arizona State. Leavitt, who is an Oregon native, was ranked as the No. 1 recruit in Oregon by On3 in last year’s class.

He appeared in four games as a true freshman at Michigan State this past season, completing 15 of 23 passes for 139 yards, with two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed for 67 yards.

Sam Leavitt attended West Linn High in West Linn, Oregon. He finished his high school career with 82 touchdown passes, including 36 as a senior. He led West Linn High to a 12-1 record and the Class 6A state championship his final year.
