Arkansas transfer Khalif Battle sets official visit to Kansas State

Former Arkansas veteran guard Khalif Battle is set for an official visit to the Kansas State Wildcats, according to On3’s Joe Tipton.

Battle came to Arkansas this past season after spending the prior three at Temple. He began his college career at Butler. Battle will have one year of eligibility remaining.

The 6-foot-5 guard averaged 14.8 points per game and played in all 32 contests for the Razorbacks. He averages more than 13 points per game during his five-year college career, now heading for a sixth.

Rutgers transfer Clifford Omoruyi set to visit Kansas State

Rutgers transfer Clifford Omoruyi is set to visit Kansas State, according to On3’s Joe Tipton. The former Scarlet Knights’ center is one of the most sought after prospects in the NCAA transfer portal.

This past winter, Kansas State finished 19-15 under Jerome Tang, his second season at the helm. The Wildcats made it to the NIT but lost in the first round.

An addition like Omoruyi would be welcome for the Wildcats going into next season. He is currently the No. 7 ranked player in the transfer portal.

At this point, Omoruyi is the second highest player available, based on the portal players who have or have not made their decisions.

He averaged 10.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks per game this season for Rutgers this past season. Omoruyi was a key cog in the Scarlet Knights’ breaking their March Madness drought in 2021, making it to the Round of 32. 

Rutgers also made it to the NCAA Tournament in 2022, aided by the big man. However, they only made it to the NIT in 2023 and fell in the first round while also missing postseason play this past winter.

As a member of the Class of 2020, Omoruyi was a four-star recruit out of Roselle (N.J.) Catholic, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 4 overall prospect in the state, the No. 8 center in the class and the No. 47 overall prospect in the class.
